A Home in San Lorenzo al Mare
Where to buy, what homes cost and what is changing in the smallest town on this stretch of coast.
A Quiet Beach Town at the End of the Path
San Lorenzo al Mare is a small town of about 1.3 km², around 10 km west of Imperia.
The coastal cycle path ends here, after 24 km from Ospedaletti, and the town has a small marina, beaches and a compact old centre. Imperia is a short drive away for everything a larger town offers.
Buyers come for a holiday apartment by the sea or the marina. With very few homes on the market, average asking prices and rents here move sharply and should be read with care.
San Lorenzo, Area by Area
San Lorenzo is very small, and Immobiliare.it gives no zone breakdown. These are the parts of town buyers ask about.
Seafront and Centro
The beaches, the promenade and the old centre with its church and oratory, all within a few minutes’ walk.
Around the Marina
Homes close to the marina and the end of the cycle path.
The Hills
Homes with gardens and views on the slopes above the town, towards Cipressa and Costarainera.
Town average asking price €3,351/m² for all property types, Immobiliare.it, September 2026. Asking prices are not sale prices, and individual homes vary widely.

A Marina Upgrade and a New Beach Path
In October 2023 Regione Liguria approved a planning change for the Marina di San Lorenzo. It allows more space for boat repair and storage, a longer slipway for larger boats, more parking and services, and a café for cycle path users in the old railway cottage.
In July 2026 the Region part-funded a step-free path to the free beach on the west side of town, making it accessible to everyone: €150,000 of a €200,000 project.
Timings are the stated aims of councils and developers, and several approvals are still pending.
